Scomi Energy Services Bhd, a Malaysian public listed company formerly in the oil and gas industry, undertook a significant restructuring corporate exercises beginning in 2021. This initiative aimed to reduce debt and exit its Practice Note 17 status under Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad’s Main Market Listing Requirements.

As a result, Scomi Energy has transitioned from an operational company to an investment holding company. Though no longer generating revenue, the company is evaluating investment opportunities to regularise its PN17 status.
